Baćinska lakes are located in Baćina, 22.5 km southeast of Drvenik. They consist of six connected lakes (Oćuša, Crniševo, Podgora, Sladinac, Šipak and Plitko jezero) and one separate lake (Vrbnik). They are freshwater, but in some of them there are springs connected to the sea. Their depth ranges from 3 to 45 meters, and they are surrounded by wild sedges, beautiful meadows and dense treetops that provide you with shelter from the scorching sun during hot summer afternoons. 24 species of fish live in the lakes, 9 of them being rare endemic species. Various reptiles, birds and insects are also contribute to the enchanting biodiversity of the whole area.
If you are an experienced paddle surfer, you can rent boards and paddle your way across the lakes, and if you are a beginner, we offer organized tours with an instructor. The area around Baćina Lakes has recently been connected with full 10 kilometers of macadam bike trails. You can also take a walk on these same trails, but if you are warped up for a faster way of touring, bike rentals are available at more than affordable prices.
Fully preserved scenery attracts many lovers of nature, tourists and excursionists. One of the most recommended attractions is a ride on a traditional Neretva boat. This tour is carefully planned for people who love spending time in nature, enjoying the fresh air and peace.
This unique experience of the Neretva Delta begins by boarding the Neretva boats, some of which are over 100 years old, followed by a ride you will spend immersed in the intoxicating tangerine-scented smells of Neretva, accompanied by music. The crackling of swamp frogs and the chirping of birds will not only give you an unforgettable experience, but also restore faith in the beauty and pleasures of living. A boat ride through the streams and backwaters opens up a magnificently vibrant scenery of the Neretva swamp, the only delta in Croatia.
